These Terms of Service explain the rules for using Nakama. By using Nakama, creating an account, starting a trial, or subscribing, you agree to these Terms.

What Nakama Does

Nakama is an anime discovery app. It uses quiz answers, anime picks, ratings, saved gems, and other taste signals to generate anime recommendations, taste profiles, archetypes, and explanations.

Nakama's recommendations and explanations are for entertainment and discovery. They are not professional advice.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Nakama. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Nakama only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Your Account

You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate another person, abuse account creation, bypass trial limits, or interfere with Nakama's systems.

Subscriptions, Trials, and Purchases

Nakama may offer free trials, paid subscriptions, or other paid features.

If you subscribe through the Apple App Store:

If Apple purchase terms, the App Store purchase sheet, or Apple's standard terms conflict with these Terms, Apple's terms control for the payment transaction.

Nakama may use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and restore purchases.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Nakama for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful purposes; disrupt or reverse engineer the service; abuse trials, subscriptions, refunds, or support channels; introduce harmful code; use unauthorized bots or scraping; misrepresent your identity; infringe intellectual property rights; or use Nakama in a way that violates App Store rules or applicable law.

Anime Content and Third-Party Rights

Nakama references anime titles, images, descriptions, genres, scores, metadata, and related information from third-party sources.

Nakama does not own the anime titles, artwork, descriptions, trademarks, studios, publishers, streaming platforms, or related intellectual property shown in the app. Those belong to their respective owners.

Nakama is not affiliated with or endorsed by anime studios, publishers, streaming platforms, Apple, Google, AniList, or other anime data providers unless stated otherwise.

AI-Generated Content

Nakama uses AI-assisted systems to generate recommendations, explanations, summaries, and app text. AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, repetitive, or not match your taste perfectly. You are responsible for deciding what to watch and should not rely on Nakama as the only source of truth about an anime.

Privacy

Nakama's Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and what choices you have. By using Nakama, you agree that Nakama may process information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to Nakama

Nakama may change, suspend, limit, or remove features as the app evolves. We try to keep the service useful and reliable, but we do not guarantee that every feature or recommendation will always be available.

Termination

You may stop using Nakama at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, create risk for Nakama or other users, or if continued access would create legal, security, payment, or operational risk.

Disclaimers

Nakama is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these terms may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Nakama and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, service interruption, recommendation quality, or anime availability.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Nakama's total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Nakama through the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these terms may not apply to you.

App Store Terms

If you download Nakama through the Apple App Store, Apple is not responsible for Nakama's content, maintenance, support, privacy practices, or claims, except as required by Apple's own terms and applicable law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for App Store distribution purposes.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice in the app or on the website. Continuing to use Nakama after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
